The planetarium is equipped with a state-of-the-art Digistar 7 digital project system for an immersive theatrical experience. Visitors of all ages will be immersed in a 360 degree dome experience where shows are performed on the rooftop

The planetarium presents many shows at the dome during midterm and spring break, suitable for all ages. Shows include “Astronaut George” best suited for preschoolers and toddlers. “Perfect Little Planet” is the perfect show for families exploring the solar system, taking you on the ultimate space vacation! ‘We are Stars’ is the perfect animated dome show for ages 6+ and seeks to answer some of the biggest questions of all time; What are we made of and where does it all come from?

The shows aren’t just for kids, adults also have the option of seeing immersive dome shows. “Seek! A Winter Night Sky Tour” takes you on a tour of the night sky as seen from Ireland. Let a presenter guide you through the beautiful objects and constellations seen at this time of year. This show is ideal for anyone who are new to astronomy or want to learn more about what can be seen in the night sky Other shows are available.

The cleverly designed interactive exhibit space lets toddlers explore outer space and expand their curiosity about intergalactic phenomena. You can touch a real piece of ancient history; a real meteorite!

To go outside, explore the Astropark which has a model of the Universe brought back to Earth in a magnificent natural setting. As you walk through the park, you can interact with a model of the solar system.

The newly renovated modern sensory room offers an enjoyable and soothing multi-sensory experience for all of our visitors, with features such as bubble tubes and interactive exhibits.

Tickets for the dome shows and exhibitions are available for purchase online via www.armagh.space and pre-booking is required. The Armagh Observatory and Planetarium is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday.
